arrive home from long exhausting day at work. sign on to facebook. first story on newsfeed is a picture of my dog taken some time in april, held by a friend, posted by a stranger, and validated with 30 likes.
it is nice to come home to a facebook that puts a smile on my face. a true rarity.

a. i would never refer to maria wyeth as a “favorite” character, but,
b. i’m certain i’d be an entirely different person had i read the book said character is featured in even one or two years later than i did, and,
c. i know that difference has something to do with optimism, pessimism, when both appeared, disappeared, decided to co-exist, and then concluded they weren’t opposites in the first place.
